MY EVENTS IN 2010
20 March 2010 Kerzerslauf (an international 15 km race in Kerzers in the Canton of Bern)
19 May Frauenlauf Fiesch (a 5.5km ladies’ race in Fiesch in the upper Valais)
22 May Grand Prix Bern (an international race over a distance of 10 miles through the beautiful old town of Bern)
11 June Night Marathon in Biel (classical marathon of 42,195 km and part of the Bieler Lauftage)
9-12 July Swiss Olympic Gigathlon (a 2-day event involving 5 disciplines: inline skating, swimming, mountain bike, road bike, running in which one can participate as a single, couple or team of five.
8 August Sierre – Zinal (otherwise named “La course des 5 4000 m” because of the splendid views of 5 peaks of over 4000 metres in height. Certainly one of the most beautiful races in the Alps renowned for its steep ascent to Chandolin and finally dramatic descent into the finishing line in Zinal after a distance of 31 km)
11 September Gemmi Triathlon, Leukerbad (an alpine triathlon involving swimming, cycling and running with a climb of nearly 1700 metres)
RESULTS
On my very first participation in the Sierre-Zinal in 2000 I started in the tourist category at 5 am and crossed the finishing line 4hrs 25 minutes later thus qualifying to start amongst the more prestigious “coureurs” at 9am in following years. My times also improved steadily and in 2005 I did my personal best of 3:43, coming in as 5th woman overall in an international field. Other highlights were my personal best at the Gemmi Triathlon and winning the Maratona Ticino in a time of 3:08 in the same year.
