Suzanne Huesser started mountaineering at the age of 14.
In a summer camp, my mum was always busy looking for sports in which I could get rid of my energy and so she signed me into this climbing camp in Arolla, Switzerland. Climbing and mountaineering appealed to me straight away and so I joined,
the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC). There i made friends and we went out into the mountains almost every weekend and most of my holidays.
Through a former partner, I got into guiding and started being a mountain guide in 1997. I had quit my job as a teacher completely
once I was fully certified mountain guide of International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations.(IFMGA) I work in our european summer mostly in the Valaisian and Bernese Alps and Bernese Oberland. In the European winter, I guide for a company ( Alpine Guides Ltd) in New Zealand and in between seasons I get the chance to work for a Swiss expedition company ( Kobler & Partner) all over the world. I enjoy heaps of travelling and mountaineering wherever in the world there are mountains.
This summer I will be guiding in the Swiss alps and in the autumn I have a trip to Ninchin Kangsa, an easy 7200m peak in Tibet. This spring I had the chance to guide on Everest, the highest mountain on earth which was quite a good experience.
Next year, i will go back to Everest, this time if possible to the south, Nepal side. I am also keen on having an expedition to Shisa Pangma, 8013m, in the autumn 2011.
I have done heaps of personal rock climbing, up to 7c+ ( french grading) also all over the world, in Europe, China, Thailand, the
US, Australia and of course, New Zealand.
In terms of mountaineering, I have been to Mt. Mckinley, Alaska; Aconcagua,Argentina; Illimani, Bolivia; Pik Lenin, Pamir; Ninchin Kangsa, Tibet; Everest, Tibet and of course many times up Mt.Cook and Mt. Tasman, New Zealand. In the Alps, I have climbed most of the 4000m peaks, except some in the Chamonix area are
and for example, I have climbed the Matterhorn 45 times.

From Zermatt at the Klein Matterhorn and then over the border to Italy where I climbed Pollux, Castor and Lyskamm before returning to Zermatt.
