My undiscovered Switzerland lies in the sunniest part along the Rhone valley which stretches from lake Geneva in the west to Italy in the east.
Here you find vineyards on the mountain slopes which produce some of the country's finest wines. The aim is to lead you to typical Valaisian villages where you can breathe fresh mountain air, drink clear water and enjoy virgin nature. They are less crowded and less expensive and are ideal for families.
The villages are located centrally in the Middle Valais and are suitable as touring centres as you can reach in about an hour, the famous resorts resorts like Zermatt with the Matterhorn, Verbier, Montana and Saas-Fee. The Valais is easily accessible for visitors either through the airports of Geneva or Zurich and then by car or train along the lakeside or through the mountain tunnels. The quickest way is via Zurich and if by car, a car transporter is provided at Lötschbergtunnel BLS (Kandersteg-Goppenstein). Visp is the railway hub for the villages.
